Playing with space and place, fashioning a dronescape from sound materials at hand, he works in live electronic music and sound installation, with recent performances as part of Mois Multi Festival, Electric Eclectics Festival, and 2015 Toronto International Electroacoustic Symposium. He is currently working with Laura Cameron on new sound pieces, exploring works of early Canadian environmental sound recordist William WH Gunn.
Michael writes music for collections of loudspeakers, improvises with laptops and creates works in which computers gradually develop sonic ideas. His music has been performed at the International Computer Music Conference and the Toronto International Electroacoustic Symposium. In 2015, he received 1st prize in the SOCAN Foundation’s Hugh Le Caine Awards for electroacoustic music.
David Parker is a multi-instrumental musician, composer, sound designer, digital media artist, and software programmer. He has performed improvised music in Ottawa, Montreal, Toronto and Kingston. He performs solo and in spontaneous groups.
Grease Truck is an experimental act lead by Jean-Paul Simard, member of such acts as Owl Farm & BAG$ = Bag Money. The act began in early 2015 inspired by the sound of a grease truck sucking grease from a nearby restaurant. Live performances involve a combination of electronic sounds & live musicians.
… a strange creature of unknown origin, sent to Earth to assume the appearance of the dominant life form. At first it assumed human form, but then it realized that humans worshiped screens, and corrected it’s appearance. It assembled a motley collection of machines for making sounds. Sometimes it performs it’s own strange compositions, and other times it simply improvises.
