HomeGrown Live 2012- Saturday May 12- Dowtown Kingston

We did it!  The 2012 HomeGrown Live Music Festival reached our “unofficial goal” and raised over $11,000 and collected over 400 food donations.   The combined efforts of the venue coordinators, dozens of bracelet sales volunteers, talented sound crews and technicians, stage managers and 335 volunteer musicians put on an awesome show. It was a wonderful expression of Kingston’s creatively rich and talented community which entertained an audience of close to 1500 people.  The donations will allow Joe’s MILL to help keep that creative fire alive and provide much needed support to the Food Bank..  Thanks to all the volunteers, the supporting venues, Kingston Downtown Business Improvement Area, Kingston Sound Works, Kingston Whig-Standard, Kingstonist, HC Concepts, Lila Centre, Michael Parkinson, and the Fixer.  Joe is smiling.

Kingston’s Local Music Community Does it Again! ……………Raised over $9000

HomeGrown Live Music Festival 2011 was a great success.  Not without its little problems, but a manageable level of stress for such a large, diverse, somewhat manic expression of music and talent.    Approximately 80 acts, comprising 300 individuals, dozens of volunteers, and talented sound techs, entertained over 1000 people, at 11 locations around town, brought in  303 food donations, and raised over $9000.  Check out Michael Parkinson 2011 photos; some awesome shots.   Sometime in early January or February 2012 we will check he pulse of our music community, volunteers, venues, and sponsor and see if we want to do this again!    Watch this site for updates.  Meanwhile thanks to everyone who made this happen and have great summer!
