Hot Club of Lansdowne
The Hot Club meets on Tuesdays exploring a range of music with a focus on Gypsy Jazz. Their sound is informed by the varied background of the musicians and a love for music. Come out and hear this acoustic treat for your ears.
Standards@7 meets weekly at 7:00 to explore Jazz standards. They have been playing in and around Kingston for decades and have all participated in one way or another in Homegrown every year!
In Kingston since 1982, John played in a few musical groups over the years, also penning a few tunes, in various genres, including Celtic, Folk, Blues and Jazz. Lately the focus has been show tunes, jazz standards (twenties through forties), and classic blues (twenties and thirties). John plays an informal mixed show most Tuesdays at the RCHA.
Jazz on Colborne

Glenna’s been playing from the Great American Songbook for years . From early folky roots on guitar (and some piano skills), she ventured up the neck, working out vocal arrangements for songs she loves to sing. The Kitchen Gypsies
We play the Gypsy Jazz (Jazz Manouche) style of music, created by Django Reinhardt. We’ve performed at numerous local events, including open air markets, art events, charity events, weddings, and at Homegrown. Oscar Evans Quintet
Oscar grew up in a very musical household, playing music from early years. Some of his first experiences were local, including at Homegrown, sharing the stage with his dad, Spencer. In expanding his musical experiences, he decided to join this group of peers who all share passion for music and live performance, performing a variety of jazz, old and new.
Spencer Evans Trio

This funky alternative to a string quartet play unique arrangements of pop and jazz standards, These four women really rock their horns, all are experienced big band musicians who perform regularly throughout the area. Out of the Blue Trio
Sean Corcoran (guitar and trombone) is Site Coordinator for Sistema Kingston, and an instructor through Queen’s Community Music. Multi-instrumentalist Josiah Ascough (electric bass today) is finishing his grade 12, and is involved in a variety of music projects in Kingston. Jacqueline Corcoran is a piano teacher, and plays jazz with the ‘Other Kingston Trio’.
The Dave Barton Group
Dave is a jazz guitarist, studio musician, arranger and composer, percussionist, and private teacher working in jazz, pop and classical. He has performed with many of Canada’s great jazz players in concerts and on recordings. His large-form compositions have been performed by the Toronto Jazz Orchestra, the Greg Runions Big Band, Brasswerks, and the Queen’s University Jazz Ensemble. www.davebarton.ca

The 20th Century
For the past four years, this band has held the Friday night at Montes in downtown Kingston, ground zero for live jazz. Featuring a rotating cast of Kingston’s finest jazz musicians, they have delighted audiences with their spontaneity, their selection of songs from the book of American jazz standards, and their audience-friendly rapport.
